Abstract:

Research objective to study such concept as a"elderly hand", give definition, study brush functions, make classification. The actual research work quite extensively expends the concept of “elderly hand”, which is one of the most important geriatric syndrome. The classification of elderly hand is also represented. The evolution of the hand as such is presented, as well as its functional peculiarities, the role it takes in life spheres, especially in social and esthetic spheres. Taking into consideration the fact that the hand is a tactile organ, gives an indication of forms, sizes, temperature, location and movements of various subjects, we can say that reduction or total loss of these functions may influence a psycho-emotional state of a patient; it is also another component of life quality lowering. The actual detailed research work is to help geriatritians and therapists to take the proper direction in precaution and medication, which will let them, postpone this syndrome and improve the life quality of elderly patients.
