Abstract:

The retirement age in modern society isn´t an obstacle for continuation of vigorous labor activity. The purpose of this study to examine the social and medical factors of life of nurses retirement age and to identify their relationship to the ability to work. In parallel, to compare the data with those from nurses working age and to identify the key differences among the study groups. According to the conducted research among the average medical workers passable advanced training courses, 44,8% are pensioners. Labor activity directly correlates with age (r = 0,40; p >;0,01) and quality of life of respondents (r = 0,30; p >0,01). Thus the leading factors having impact on quality of life, respondents of a retirement age call social and economic, and persons of able-bodied age – family and social. Modern pensioners conduct more a healthy lifestyle and have the best basic somatic status, than faces of able-bodied age that promotes their high performance. Besides, persons of a retirement age have a wide experience and high-quality vocational training, aspiration to improvement that allows them, despite age features and the high competition, to perform more qualified work.
