MODERN REGIONAL PROBLEMS OF MEDICAL AND SOCIAL SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of the modern state system of social and health services for the elderly and to identify the prospects for its development. On the basis of analysis of recent research and publications, as well as a fragment of its own pilot study demonstrated that dramatically increases the need for adequate and effective measures to provide medical and social assistance to all needy citizens , and especially the current state of the system of social and health services for older people. Also stated lack of training of personnel working in the social sector in basic medical knowledge in gerontology and geriatrics, and mismatch creates social workers and medical staff. Focuses on the relevance of the training and retraining of personnel working in the social sector, in view of increasing the level of medical knowledge on the problems of older age groups, the introduction of new and effective methods of social work with the elderly, and a promising development model that links two links in the structure: "Medical workers - social rehabilitation" and " Social workers - medicine."
