CLINICAL AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF OSTEOPOROSIS AND OSTEOARTHRITIS IN AMBULATORY PRACTICE: THE CURRENT STATE OF THE PROBLEM

Abstract:

Osteoporosis and osteoarthritis are not only important interdisciplinary, but also medical and social problem due to the high prevalence, the correlation with age and frequent complications. In most cases, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis in the older age group - an integrated pathology. Objective: to study the basic clinical and epidemiological characteristics of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis in ambulatory practice. On the basis of the methodology of the medical and social research on osteoporosis and osteoarthritis studied the main clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the data nosology: using an integrated questionnaire screened risk factors investigated physical activity level of patients, evaluated the prevalence of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis as before, and the primary identified. In the course of the study is shown and the use of accented and further introduction into clinical practice of structured algorithm primary diagnosis of these diseases, which provide the majority of patients receive adequate medical care, and accordingly - to prevent their progression to the development of severe functional disorders. In this systematic and comprehensive approach will improve both the quality and length of life, as well as to reduce to a minimum rate of disability in these age groups.
