Frailty is the characteristic of the patient´s health status of elderly and senile age, which reflects the need for care. This clinical situation includes a combination of five positions: weight loss, sarcopoenia, the dinamometric decrease in power of the brush, expressed weakness and fatigue, decrease of speed of movement, a significant reduction in physical activity. The article presents modern views on this phenomenon, shows data of epidemiology, approaches to diagnosis and using in gerontological and geriatric practice.
