Ðåçþìå:

The present article is concerned with the problem of hand ageing, common mechanisms of physiological and pathological process of hand ageing are represented here, alongside with age-specific changes of asseous and chondral hand structures. Research objective - to study the general mechanisms of physiological and pathological aging of a hand. Atrophic changes and senile osteoporosis are physiological aspects of osseous changes. Muscular tissue changes that quite often take place at the age of 20 (men) and 40 (women) are marked by degradation of certain muscle cells, aging pigment and adipose tissue accumulation. The main reason of muscle function changes at elderly age is reorganization of reflex mechanisms of motion activity regulation. Chorda ageing is followed by collagen content lowering, alongside with proteoglycans and water-component content. Another important aspect of the research work is nerve tissue changes examination. Aging pigment accumulation in neurosomes brings to its functional changes, mediator synthesis in nerve terminals gets weaker, reflex activity lowers, which finally brings to decrement of connection between nerve and muscular cells and senile changes in skeletal muscles. Elderly hand is studied as an independent geriatric syndrome in the current research, which further examination may improve the life quality of an elderly person and also elongate active vivacity.

Keywords: elderly hand, geriatric syndrome, elderly age
