Among all patients with duodenal ulcer (DU), the proportion of people aged over 60 years is not less than 15-25%. Despite advances in its treatment, DU is still common in the elderly and senile age. The purpose of research - to justify the principles and tactics of applying the methods of medical rehabilitation with the debut of DU in the elderly, study its medical and social efficiency. We studied 234 cases of assistance to working pensioners aged 61-65 years with DU, which was first diagnosed in the elderly. As a result, we have found that the methods of medical rehabilitation have important value in the tactics of elderly patients with PUD. The content of non-drug programs at DU are subject to phasing concept: in the clinic held at the permanent long-term dynamic monitoring the basic activities (basic stage); hospital non-drug methods aimed at maintaining and restoring previously achieved level of physical performance and quality of life (supporting stage); carried out in a sanatorium remission consolidation and strengthening of non-specific resistance (consolidating phase). Non-pharmacological activities carried out by a three-stage scheme, have more medical and social efficiency in comparison with the one-step.
