Abstract:

The article presents the data of the literature on the problem of coronary artery bypass grafting in elderly patients, the prevalence of sarcopenia in old age and its influence on perioperative period in patients in need for coronary bypass surgery. The registered increase in the number of nosocomial infections in elderly patients with syndrome sarcopenia. Assess the feasibility of determining the risk and detection of sarcopenia in geriatric patients undergoing surgical myocardial revascularization; presents the possible mechanisms of development of sarcopenia in old age. Role installed ryanodine receptors, contributing to the leaching of calcium from the cells, which limits the contractility of the muscle fibers, being one of the trigger mechanisms of age-related loss of muscle mass, i.e. the development of the syndrome sarcopenia in elderly patients.

Keywords: coronary artery bypass surgery at gerontological patients, sarcopenia in elderly, coronary heart disease
